:: THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY ::

Hellooooo peeps! I had a superbly fun day with LimJup today and I'm totally exhausted right now. I wanted to continue my Hong Kong drama addiction but in the end I decided to blog about the awesome Penang trip I went with Kuen Cheng school orchestra. It was like any typical Mondays but I was really excited about the trip and I managed to wake up at 5 in the morning to double check if I misplaced anything. Thinking about the heavenly food, and how I could summon my true innate soul and be as hyper as usual with all my wonderful friends gave me insomnia though. Well, still, most of them were stuck in school for the school camp so I only got to go for this memorable short vacation with the the members of KC school orchestra. As a matter of fact, it wasn't exactly a vacation, though. They had inter-school orchestra competition but we as outsiders or students were allowed to join the vacation.

Alright, so let me start the story of our truly awesome short vacation to this wonderful land named Penang Island. Wendy went to Singapore and came back on Monday at 12am. She solely had approximately 3 hours of beauty sleep. In spite of her lack of sleep, she was still willing to come over (or much rather her elder brother) and fetch me to school at 6.30am. I can still remember the heat on Monday. It was simply loathsome and irritating! When I reached school, I thought I would be able to meet up with those who were in school for science camp but how sadly they were still sleeping at the dorm. My friend told me they had to sleep at 4.30am and wake up at 6am. It was torturing, but at least they have learnt extraordinary things, gone through a bounty of ups and downs and gained experiences that I really yearn for :( ! If only I was still there, I would be able to join them and know more people from different schools from different states! Also, I would be able to work with prestigious professors and so forth! Dang, missed it big time!

So, in the bus, TeikYi (President of KCPO) and ShiZhe (Vice-president of KCPO) distributed the schedule and the allocation of apartments amongst all of us. I was totally surprised that my name was in bold form 'cos as you know, I'm no longer a student of KCH. Haha, being pretty narcissist here but yes, I am a very reliable and responsible person with good leadership! Okay, not really -.- . My name was in bold form just because SO luckily my name starts with the alphabet 'C', haha.

Mua name ;)
Mua pleasure ;)
I was like on cloud nine when we reached Tapah rest house 'cos my bladder was about to explode. Dang, I forgot what did I buy for lunch but I remembered most of them had hotdogs. Wait let me recall ...... OH YEA I had curry puffs as lunch! Haha it was tasty but none of them was willing to share with me ;( *nawhhh. Nobody will ever love curry puffs as much as I do. Kay so after that when we were heading back to our bus, I saw short little kids wearing colourful school PE shirts and when I looked closer, they were from Han Ming (my primary school!). I was running towards them like mad cow, wondering if there were any teachers who I know and YES, I met Ms. Ho (my standard 4 form teacher) and Ms. Lim (my table tennis teacher). It was such a coincidence! Both our schools rested at the same place but we were actually heading to different places! They had to go to Taiping to do some research or something like that. I really missed them so much and I hope I could return to my primary school one day and reminisce the past with my teachers and friends, yay!

Their bus! The same bus I sat when I went to Malacca with the mates!
After around 4 to 5 hours of chit-chatting in the bus (the journey was simply noisy and fun :D !), we eventually reached Penang at 3pm (If the absent-minded me remembers clearly). I could feel the breeze and all that I just needed to go to the beach on the spot (yeap, I'm a beach lover). Firstly, we checked in at Vistana Hotel. I personally think it was not bad. It wasn't a hotel to be precise. It was an apartment with one house consisting of 1 living room, 1 spacious kitchen with dining table, 3 bedrooms, 3 toilets and 1 laundry room. On the first day, I felt that the apartment we stayed at was plain eerie which gave me goosebumps. The toilet was dark and the fact that wherever I stood I would still have to face the humongous mirror gave me the thought that 'Dang, is someone standing beside me?'. Kay, hysterical thinking but I just couldn't help it. I wasn't the only one who was afraid and thinking far too much 'cos the apartment looked old, creepy and unsafe. Frankly speaking, I'm having problem concentrating to blog now 'cos I'm watching Eurocup Poland versus Greece but, I shall try my best to continue, haha. HEY Poland got one score! WOOHOO! Right .... back to the topic -.- . Where was I? Oh, the apartment. The first day was a torture to me 'cos I could feel the fear haunting me. It sure was a BAD feeling. However, the second and last day were much better. Somehow I felt that the apartment was pretty cool and I was pretty sad to leave on the last day.

After one hour of rest, we changed and went to a famous hall in Penang. The members were there to practise and deal with the arrangements of seats and all. For the non-members, we could either choose to stay and watch them practise or to follow the teachers to the beach. The beach wasn't the best or a beautiful one but STILL, it was a BEACH, so me likey! Wendy and I chatted a lot while enjoying ourselves with the gush of wind, watching the waves and those cute little crabs. We didn't know we could chat that long that we didn't notice that they left us and by the time we got a call, they were already in the bus waiting for just two of us. Oh boy how embarrassing :( .

Libra Star Cruise!

Apes are sexy.

Then, we went to Gurney Plaza! All I saw there was irresistible FOOD. Initially I was planning to go to the huge food court outside the mall but then I needed to get out of the heat area as I could feel myself sticking myself, haha. So, the first place we went was the top floor where the cinema was located at. Some of them wanted to go for movie but unfortunately we were kind of lacking time. I saw a macaron restaurant there and it looked wholly beautiful! It was like a corner soothing restaurant that was specifically for macaron lovers. Wondering how ZiEe could ever resist it, LOL!

Tzarina had to eat in a halal restaurant, so Wendy and I decided to compromise with her. We wandered around the top floor but we couldn't find a nice restaurant. Then, we went to the lowest floor and man, food? Yes, FOOD. I saw Japanese food, some really awesome pawsome bread and I seriously didn't mind to have bread as dinner, heh. In the end, we entered Kenny Rogers Roasters. To be frank, I personally don't really like eating in KR Roasters but since it said precisely there that it was 'deliciously healthy' and Tzarina seemed to really love it a lot, so no harm eating their 'healthy' chickens for once, right? Plus, I've got to listen to some really romantic and amazing love stories that made me pretty traumatized. One word, fun :) .

Well, at least it said so.

The chocolate muffin that looked a little disgusting to me.

After dinner, we loitered at Speedy, Popular and a guitar shop with soooooo many awesome guitars and ukulele! Later, we met up with JieXi who went to the food court for dinner before that and we went to Jusco for ladies supper shopping! We bought strawberry yogurt (which JieXi really hated 'cos she said it tasted like anti-biotic. Well, it tasted quite yummy to us, though. Her problem, lol.) , some unhealthy junk foods that I haven't touched for months and cute little Big Apple donuts.

Late at night before I slept, I was talking to Wendy (she was unlucky enough to have to sleep with me :D ) for the entire night until we were exhausted. There was a tall mirror in front of me, or much rather slightly to the left, and I could see it so vividly with my left eye almost everytime I opened my eyes, so I had to make myself keep the blanket covering my left eye at all times. Pretty lame, but at least it took away the feeling of insecurity in me.

They said there would be a morning call at 7.30am but there wasn't any. Well, even if there was, I don't think anyone of us would bother picking up the stupid phone 'cos it was in the living room, NOT in any of our rooms. Actually, my phone alarm rang, Wendy's rang too and I'm sure if we didn't stay up THAT late we would be able to get ourselves prepared on time. Sadly, we ignored the alarms and continued sleeping. At 7.20am, HuiShi (I assume she was the only one awake in the entire apartment) came and woke us up. We didn't have time to prepare that much and I barely even had time to breathe 'cos we were really REALLY late. Surprisingly, we didn't get any calls from ShiZhe (he normally called people who were late) . And when we were practically running from lifts to lifts (yeah, we had to transit, and yes, WEIRD) , running from lobby to the ballroom, we got a call from him and he said they were all walking to a restaurant for breakfast -.- . He absolutely chose the wrong time to call us. While we were outside the apartment, the teacher was waiting for us and I felt lucky that she wasn't on fire, haha.

Oh I've forgotten to mention that it was their very BIG day! They had competition in the afternoon and I could see that most of them were feeling nervous and all. Our school orchestra was separated into two groups. Group A members wore black dresses whereas members of group B wore long sleeves shirts in white and long skirts in black. After our breakfast, we went to the hall and the orchestra members went down to get prepared for their competition and we as non-members went to Prangin Mall. Wendy and I walked from Prangin Mall to 1st avenue for lunch AND hey, I just realized that I didn't take any photos of the foods. The foods, were CRAZY AWESHUM! I ate sting ray fish rice (the homemade sambal was pricelesssss) , YaoZhaGuai (tasted fresh and crispy!) and drank a cup of homemade soya bean! We were actually too full that we needed to walk around non-stop to activate our digestion, haha.

Then, we went back to the hall and it was time for the prize-giving ceremony! I saw many students from different schools and most of them were from Chinese schools, LIKE US! There was this really hot guy (conductor of the orchestra to be more accurate) with black coat and red tie and KahWai was brave enough to ask for a photo together with him, SALUTE HER. Most importantly, group A got GOLD medal whereas group B got BRONZE medal *cheeeeeeeeers* . No doubt, Pride of KC!

My left: JieXi ; My right: HuiShi
And yes, we were at the kitchen of our apartment.

Beautiful scenario from the top of 1st avenue.

Spot TeikYi and Amanda!
After being hyper of their achievements, we headed to Queensbay Mall! It was a really huge and nice place to hang out. Most of them went to watch Man In Back 3 but Wendy and I were not interested and we thought we would get totally lost during the movie as we haven't watched Man In Black 1 and 2 yet. Hence, we went for Karaoke at Neway. Just us? Yea, just two of us, oh how sweet... The part when Wendy sang Rolling in the deep by Adele while I was merely singing the back up was extremely hilarious. She went gasping for air halfway and yelled at me 'HEY WERE YOU NOT SUPPOSED TO SING THE CHORUS WITH ME TOO'. Hah, I was smarter. Well, OBVIOUSLY. At around 7.00pm, their movie ended and KahWai came to join us. As usual, we were standing on the sofa screaming like a bird. Hey why bird? Nah, DINO! You wouldn't ever want to hear us sing together, NEVER. Power of love by Celine Dion was the best (or worst? :D HAHA) .

After being completely hyper with the uncontrollable adrenaline rush and all, we went for supper shopping. Again? Yes, again! We bought Auntie Anne's pretzels, 20 MCD's nuggets, Taiwan BEST fried chicken, yogurt and junk food! We were lucky that we weren't late again to return. At 10pm, most of us gathered at room number 10 - TeikYi's room and we played some games. I spent most of the time eating, eating and EATING so basically I was just plain lost during the games. Typical Emily. Plus, I received 55 Whatsapp messages at that time and my phone just couldn't stop ringing that I had to temporarily silent it. At 1.30am, we decided to leave and the way back to our apartment was spooky. The wind and the quietness made me miss home like shizzzz. When we reached our apartment, we couldn't open the door with our card and THAT gave me (or US) MORE goosebumps. At first, we thought we left OUR card (while we took somebody's card) in TeikYi's room, so we went back down but to no avail.

You know what had happened? They (our beloved room mates) locked the door from inside. We attempted pressing the door bell for infinite times, we attempted calling them for infinite times, WE WERE STILL COMPLETELY IGNORED AND NEGLECTED like abandoned kids waiting to go home :( . In the end, all we could do was to walk back down to the lobby to ask for help. Fortunately, there was this very cool woman who accompanied us back up and opened the door with her GOLDEN card :) .

My favourite cantonese duet!

In the morning, we woke up late as expected. Plain luck that we were not the latest and as a matter of fact, we were considered the few who went down earliest. The teachers were sort of pissed off, so as a punishment, we didn't get to go to Gek Lok Si. In the bus, I was SO so SO so sick. My sinus attacked me and my eyes were red. I was like 'PLEASE I wanna go home. PLEASE bus PLEASE move faster.' How sad :( . However, the entire short vacation with them was undoubtedly a blast! I had so much fun with them that whenever the thought that school is going to reopen in no time comes into my mind, I will get really emotional :( . Oh yea, I still have to go for my 5 hours or more of violin detention class tomorrow before I even get the time to get prepared for SCHOOL, 'best' damn thing ever :( . Listening to Jayesslee's cover of Failure in disguise is making me an emo kid right now.

Anywaaaaaay, I really can't wait for Germany's match later at 2.30am! It's going to be an exciting game 'cos they're competing with PORTUGAL! Praying hard *fingers crossed tightly* ! I shall get some beauty sleep now so I will be energetic enough to cheer later ....  oh wait, I'm going to watch alone :( !

The tastiest FokKinMin EVER!!
It is not more vacation we need
- it is more vocation.

:: OFFICIALLY MISSING YOU ::

Yours truly is currently sick. Sometimes I feel like the unluckiest person on planet earth (okay, just exaggerating). I hate my nose. It's never cured, never well. I always have running nose which makes my eyes swollen as the eyes and nose are literally connected and from what the doctor said, they share the same 'water reservoir'. Yes, that is what is happening on me now. My eyes as swollen as frog eyes, my nose is running like the athletes from Jamaica. In short, I feel plain terribly BAD. By the way, I'm back from Penang with KCPO (Kuen Cheng 'Philharmonic Orchestra') !  I won't be blogging about that today but soon :) ! I think I'm falling sick because of going out too much during the holidays. I feel so lethargic today and that explains why I'm able to bring myself up here to blog so much about what was happening last week. True, I need some rest but the fact that holiday is coming to an end gives me the thought that resting/sleeping is simply a waste of time because when school reopens, I will be like the typical dead fish yearning for more holidays -.- , I'm serious.

Last weekend, the family and I went for karaoke night buffet at Neway. I was pretty glad that they have changed the menu because I already got bored of their food. They no longer have Japanese food but I seriously do not mind 'cos for the past few years they had been doing the same old kind of sushi. Now, they have bubble tea, which I do not drink, but that actually managed to capture most of the customers' attention, sadly, not mine :) . I like the Taiwanese food there because it looked exotic but tasted as succulent and delicious as ever. I ordered this omelette oysters that were pretty rarely seen. In one word I can sum up how I felt towards this small little yellow thing, HEAVENLY. However, the fried cheesy sausage tasted like poop, 'cos the sausage tasted RAW and expired.

*coughs* Adele wannabe.
Also, the family and I went to visit my gramma at Kepong. My cousin sister bought this very cute bubble glue which we could blow a bubble by sticking the glue on a straw (maybe not straw, HARD straw, haha) . I frequently get interrogated about why and how I act like I can never grow. Not from height or size or weight, from my interest and thoughts. I never stopped playing childish online games like matching clothes and if there were people who were willing enough to accompany me for a Barbie Doll night, I would be really contented. Until now, I still play the very childish hand games with my nephews who are solely 5 years old. I like to see how they smile and how they squeak like a mouse. Why 'cos they have very sharp voices and me likey. Okay, why am I revealing how childish and immature I am?

I'm actually pretty worried about my gramma. She never got to stand up straight with her legs after her coma. On that day when my mom was helping her to shower, she slipped when she was attempting to stand up. I envy how she always sees things from the positive sides and she never complains about how problematic are her legs. Where can you see an old woman still showing a bright smile upon her terribly wrinkled visage after slipping down and was not able to stand up? Shouldn't I feel relieved that I possess the healthiest and complete body that is able to strive for whatever I want as long as I am willing to do it? My gramma has taught me so many things without her having to say a single thing. She has showed me everything I needed to witness and I eventually comprehended why the recognized pundits say that positive thinking is the strongest power that leads us to a better life.

My violin exam is on the 22nd of June and guess what, it's the day I go for my school's band leadership and motivation camp. I'm just hoping that I will be able to make it on time to school right after my exam. Speaking about violin exam, I'm actually pretty stressed up for that. I don't want to fail and I MUST NOT fail. 3 years plus of grade 8 is crazy. Who spends 3 years plus for one grade? After being lectured by my teachers, I know it's definitely not the time for me to fool around, to dilly-dally, to laze around. I must not let my parents and my teachers down. God can't help. The only way to pass is - practices. Last Monday, my mom insisted to bring Jane and I to her office. I was actually planning to spend the entire day practising at home but since we had to follow my mom, I decided to bring along my violin as well. Sounds odd, but yeah.

I was surprised how I managed to practise daily for more than 1 hour. During my violin detention class on Sunday, my teacher said that I've got improvements and that very small compliment actually made my day. That was like a kind of force that pushes me to practise every day, more. I haven't been practising this week 'cos I was with the 'Penang Crew (haha)' and since I'm staying home tomorrow, I shall seize the opportunity to practise to my utmost as tomorrow is the only day I will be completely free before holiday ends. I was supposed to go for CHS IU Day at PJ but 'cos I was feeling quite unwell now and JiaYing is probably on duty tomorrow, I decided not to go.

This is how much I like to scribble.

Random moment. Jane: This is what I call a 3DD!
Frankly speaking, I've no idea what is the 3DD on the poster of Piranha.
And, this is how much my teacher likes to scribble.
Will never get bored of this card game.
*coughs #2* Vivaldi wannabe.
Last Thursday, I went to Sunway Pyramid with LimJup. I had no transport to Sunway in the afternoon so I had to follow her to PJ early in the morning at 8.30 for accounts class. I waited at the living room with the babies 'cos from what I know, the owner of the house is a babysitter. The babies could be adorable at times but they could be really annoying too. There was one very chubby baby boy sitting just beside me. He was ogling at the novel on my lap and then he took it. I wasn't expecting him to ask me for permission as he was too young to behave. BUT, when I was about to take it back, he cried -.- . For the first time I felt that babies were really annoying and SCARY.

Lunch :)
